The roar of an engine, the thrill of the open road, and the wind in your hair – this and more is what to expect on an epic day out with Cape Sidecar Adventures. Recently, the team kitted up to take ten differently-abled children from Warrior On Wheels Foundation for the ride of a lifetime on a gorgeous autumn morning.
Meeting at the new depot in Salt River, the children, their parents and some siblings, were treated to muffins and coffee, or cupcakes and juice for the kiddies, on arrival. The depot is biker’s treasure trove of interesting decor, gadgets and gear. Owner, Tim Clarke, welcomed the families and the excitement got underway as everyone was kitted out in helmets and leather jackets for the authentic WWII vintage sidecar experience to follow.
Smiles abounded as engines roared to life and the convoy eased their way towards the M3, bound for Hout Bay for some playtime on the beach before heading back for a scenic trip back to the depot up Suikerbossie and along the coastlines of Llandudno, Camps Bay and Sea Point. New friendships were made, families had time to enjoy being out together on a long weekend, and the drivers were amazing in taking care of their young passengers.
When it comes to accessible transport, it’s great to have a unique option like Cape Sidecar Adventures as a different, thrilling way to explore Cape Town.
