What is Adaptive Surfing?
Adaptive Surfers experience various forms of disability, including but not limited to, paralyses, cerebral palsy, blindness, amputations etc. These are just some of the many physical challenges that they overcome to share the stoke of simply catching waves (and invariably trying to ride them better). Adaptive Surfing, as a sport, has been rapidly growing and we are dedicated to assisting with this growth both locally and nationally. At the last annual ISA World Adaptive Surfing Championships, over a hundred athletes from 25 different countries, took part in the competition. This year, South Africa will yet again have a team representing us at the championships held in California, USA.
